Imperia is a super 8 film by Aitor Bigas filmed in Rome and Barcelona, 2019. Imperia reveals the confrontation between the movement of the human body and the statism of its representations. In the film, concepts such as effort, work and perseverance are understood as requirements to achieve this formal idealism that appears sculpted.

History shows us that when the artistic representations of the human body begin to be realistic, it is at the moment that they find the balance between austerity and the transmission of the sensation of movement, as opposed to the static and hieratic positions of more archaic art. A clear demonstration that the movement, also understood as progress, is intrinsic in humans.
